Selected as Top Instrument for 2006

BEAVERTON, Ore., January 16, 2007 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE:TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that the DPO7000 Series Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope has received a Readers’ Choice Award from the readers of EE-Evaluation Engineering magazine in the Instrumentation category. The awards honor the top product in seven categories as the best of 2006 determined by reader votes.

“Each year we look to our readers to choose the top products as part of our annual online reader poll to select the best products published in EE-Evaluation Engineering,” said Paul Milo, Editorial Director, EE-Evaluation Engineering. “For 2006, the Tektronix DPO7000 Series Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes were chosen. Readers found the technology innovation, features, and specifications unmatched for their class.”

For the 12th consecutive year, EE-Evaluation Engineering asked their readers to vote for the most outstanding from among the many products introduced to the test and measurement market by a number of equipment manufacturers. The selection process began by compiling a group of products representing ATE, Communications Test, Data Acquisition, Environmental Test, Instrumentation, PC Test, and Software. These determinations were based on the number of responses that each product received during the year through the RSLeads program.

“When Tektronix launched the DPO7000, it was our intent that the product, with its leading specifications and unmatched capabilities based on user needs, would transform the expectations of our customers,” said Martyn Etherington, Vice President, Instruments Business, Tektronix. “This recognition by the readers of EE-Evaluation Engineering is particularly pleasing as it is recognition from customers, our most important constituency. It is also validation of our commitment to provide products, applications and services to make our customers more productive.”

About The DPO7000 Series
These breakthrough instruments are based upon a new generation hardware platform that eliminates the trade-offs found in all other oscilloscopes between sample rate, record length and waveform capture rate. With technology innovation, unmatched features and specifications, the real-time DPO7000 is the world’s first uncompromised performance oscilloscope.

The platform for the 500-MHz DPO7054, 1-GHz DPO7104, and the 2.5-GHz DPO7254 incorporates IBM 7HP silicon germanium technology. The DPO7054 and DPO7104 support optional deep record lengths to 200M while the DPO7254 reaches 400M. All models have vertical accuracy of ±1%, acquire more than 250,000 waveforms/s, and include the MyScope™ user interface.
