Beacon EmbeddedWorks Announces Two New i.MX 8M System on Modules

Beacon EmbeddedWorks announces its newest, feature-dense i.MX 8M SOMs. Built around the NXP i.MX 8M Mini or Nano with up to four additional ARM Cortex cores, the SOMs are both powerful and versatile. Multiple available configurations deliver personalized features while built in quality delivers unwavering high-performance. Beacon EmbeddedWorks’ i.MX 8M Mini and i.MX 8M Nano SOMs stand out as the prime selection for security, power-efficiency, and high-definition video and graphics processing.

The i.MX 8M Mini and i.MX 8M Nano SOMs offer Bluetooth, Wireless, and Ethernet connectivity options with an integrated secure element to ensure end-to-end security. Camera and display features are secured by the MIPI DSI and MIPI CSI-2 with up to four lanes each. Three synchronous audio interfaces, S/PDIF input/output, and 8 channel pulse density modulation (PDM) input deliver cutting edge audio capabilities. Beacon’s i.MX 8M SOM comes equipped with all the necessary interfaces, including USB 2.0, UART, I2C, and SPI with a multiplexed GPIO to support the peripherals.

Not only are the Beacon i.MX 8M Mini and Nano powerful embedded solutions with a laundry list of features, these features are contained in a compact package approximately the size of a quarter. With dimensions of 28 x 38 mm and a weight of just 7.7 grams, the SOMs are perfect for applications where solutions must be compact and lightweight. The i.MX 8M Mini and i.MX 8M Nano are produced in compliance with RoHS and Reach standards. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities have been pre-certified for FCC and ISED.
