Portuguese wine cooperatives to host summer tasting in Miami on June 25

WEBWIRE

FENADEGAS, the Portuguese Association of Wine Cooperatives, is coming back to Miami for the second year in a row to increase market awareness for the outstanding quality and great value wines produced by the leading cooperatives in Portugal.

In the past, “coops” were seen as a source of affordable yet uninteresting wines, a view that has changed radically since the turn of the century, not only in Portugal, but all around the world. Investments in state-of-the-art technology paired with well-trained winemakers and higher standards of quality have produced an array of noteworthy wines at very competitive prices.

On June 25, 2006 (3:30PM to 6:30PM) South Floridians and visiting wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to taste nearly 80 Portuguese wines in one of Miami’s most striking venues. Mendoza Restaurant, located right on Biscayne Bay and 12SE street, will feature wines from 8 of Portugal’s top cooperatives paired with a variety of Mediterranean appetizers designed to tantalize your senses.

Qualified wine industry professionals and media are welcome to attend FREE of charge while the general public will need to make a minimum contribution of $25 to support the Lupus Foundation of America South East Florida Chapter.

Reservations are mandatory. RSVP by sending an email with your full name, address and phone number to fenadegas@vinamericas.com. Please indicate if you are a wine industry professional. A $15 fee will be charged to ALL guests without reservation.
