In Appreciation for Significant Contributions to New York Area Chapter
RED BANK, NJ – September 20, 2010 – Exhibit Surveys, Inc., the leading provider of research measurement and consulting services exclusively for the exhibition and event industry, today announced that its executive director of research, Jan H. Goldsmith, has been selected by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) to receive its Merit Award.

Ms. Goldsmith earned the Merit Award in recognition of her 14 years of leadership, dedication and outstanding service to the New York (NY) Area Chapter of IAEE, where she has served on the Board of Directors for nine years, and held office for eight. In 1998, she received the Diamond Service Award from the NY Area Chapter.

“I am truly honored to receive this award,” commented Ms. Goldsmith. “IAEE provides so much value to the industry, and I am very proud to contribute in any way I can. I am especially grateful to the New York Area Chapter for nominating me.”

“Jan has contributed a significant amount of time and knowledge to IAEE, and I’m delighted that she was selected to receive the Merit Award,” commented Chris Meyer, CMP, CEM, and chairman of IAEE. “I look forward to congratulating her in person at Expo!Expo! in December.”

The IAEE Awards Committee reviews nominations, discussing each candidate’s qualifications in depth, prior to recommending its selections to the IAEE Board of Directors. The final selections, chosen by the Board, are based on merit. Recipients must have a proven track record and have forged new ground in their chapter, IAEE and/or the industry. Honorees will be recognized at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition, to be held December 7-9 in New Orleans.
Ms. Goldsmith has been with Exhibit Surveys, Inc. since 1988, moving from positions as assistant project manager, project manager, and research director to her current responsibilities managing the design and analyses of research projects, the research staff, and the survey process. That takes her from client meetings through development of research instruments to report writing and production, with special attention to quality and timeliness of reports. Jan’s responsibilities also include the administration of Exhibit Surveys’ exhibition audits and their compliance with the industry’s EEIAC standards. Goldsmith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, and continued her post-graduate work at Ohio State University.
