How do you BAM? The Tasting Panel Magazine hosts Bartender Video Competition to find Blue Angel Vodka "BAMbassadors"
PROGRAM LAUNCHES IN SAN FRANCISCO; PRIZES INCLUDE MONEY, WHEELS AND FAME
San Francisco, CA September 8th, 2010 – The “BAM”—Blue Angel Martini, signature drink of ultra-premium Blue Angel Vodka—is rolling out across the nation from its hometown of San Francisco. The Tasting Panel Magazine, the bible of the wine and spirits business, has now chosen San Francisco to launch an on-premise program featuring the BAM, dubbed “HOW DO YOU BAM?”
How does it work? After registering at blueangelvodka.com/bam, The Tasting Panel invites Bay Area contestants to shoot a short video showing how they make a BAM and upload it to their contest site youtube.com/blueangelvodka. Then, the amateur filmmakers promote the heck out of it as “BAMbassadors” for Blue Angel. The video with the most YouTube views by October 31st, 2010 wins the grand prize package: $1000 plus a shiny new, 150cc Argo Scooter and a profile in the December 2010 issue of the magazine. Second and third prizes are $500 and $250, respectively. Purchase is not required but is always appreciated.
To inspire potential filmmakers, Blue Angel recruited five different emerging directors to show how they BAM. All five teams received the exact same script and full creative control on their project. The videos feature Pro Skater Brandon Biebel with Wing Ko; Cole Mathews and Ira Ingram; Artist Mike Giant with Sean Desmond; artist Donny Miller; and The Werehaus and Finktoons with Red Hunter from Peter and the Wolf.
“We’re having some fun and putting a call out to the San Francisco bartender community to think about our signature cocktail,” says Blue Angel COO James Eason. “We feel we’ve got the top ultra-premium vodka on the market, and Blue Angel makes the best martini.” Experts agree. On trying the BAM, Anthony Dias Blue said, “This might be the best damn vodka martini I’ve ever tasted.”
The brainchild of inventor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, master distiller and “Father of Modern-day Vodka” Maurice Kanbar, Blue Angel has secured US distribution representing over half the US population. For the creation of Blue Angel, Kanbar took vodka distillation to a new level by using select American grain, pure water and a proprietary evolution of his world-renowned filtration process that made his previous spirits venture a household name. “Once you experience the soft taste and terrific finish of Blue Angel,” Kanbar promises, “you’ll swear it’s been aged for five years.” At $19.95 per 750ml, Blue Angel’s ultra-premium quality, flavor and finish make it a delightful—and affordable—luxury vodka.
“San Francisco is both our backyard and a bastion of cocktail culture, and we feel we’ll have a varied, creative and impressive response,” Eason concludes. “We’re looking forward to building on the success of the first venture in San Francisco and rolling out the BAM program nationwide. Please join in!”
