Dark Night of the Soul features songs written by artist/producer Danger Mouse and experimental rockers Sparklehorse, with contributions from a dozen musicians. The advance stream on NPR Music reveals the impressive list of artists who play on the album, including Iggy Pop, The Flaming Lips, The Pixies’ Frank Black, Suzanne Vega, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, The Shins’ James Mercer and Scott Spilane of Neutral Milk Hotel and The Gerbils. The album will also be packaged with a book of photos taken by filmmaker David Lynch.
