Tektronix Donation to Help Students Develop Skills in Waveform and SD Monitoring

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced today that they have donated a WVR6100 waveform rasterizer to Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. The WVR6100 unit, which was presented in person by Tektronix, features analog and SD monitoring capabilities as well as digital audio monitoring functionality.

“We would like to thank Tektronix for their support,” said Martin Uren, Broadcast Engineering Subject Leader at Ravensbourne College. “At Ravensbourne, we have an international reputation for teaching our students using the latest equipment, and the WVR6100 which Tektronix has kindly donated will prove an invaluable addition to our Presentation Suite. It will offer our engineering students an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with industry-leading Tektronix equipment, which is widely used in broadcast engineering.”

Tektronix donates equipment to higher education facilities as part of an ongoing interest in training the engineers of tomorrow. As part of its education program, Tektronix has created a web page (http://www.tek.com/education/), where professors and students can access essential classroom and lab resources such as the fundamentals of test and measurement library, technical posters, training kits, lab materials and more.

“We believe it is vital to start building relationships with engineers at an early stage in their careers,” said Winfried Schultz, RF & Video marketing manager, Tektronix. “The broadcast and video industry is continually evolving, and by maintaining a close relationship with those at the forefront of their field, we can ensure we continue to develop the innovative technologies that engineers need.”
