The Web-based presentation will be hosted by Thomson Reuters and held on April 21 from 1 – 2 p.m. CDT.

During their co-presentation, Get Your Tax Data Flowing!, Michael Knighton from Thomson Reuters and Jean Blackstone from Liberty Global, Inc. will discuss how Liberty Global, Inc. efficiently gathers tax information from their entities around the globe using the DataFlow option to ONESOURCE WorkFlow Manager DataFlow. The flexible software option dynamically builds an XML (Extensible Markup Language) tagged database from information input into Microsoft Excel templates. “Using the right integrated technology solution has enabled us to improve our previous process while boosting both the quality of our tax data as well as productivity of our tax staff,” said Blackstone.

Blackstone is the Tax manager of International Compliance Reporting at Liberty Global, Inc. She has 20 years of experience in federal and state income tax compliance as well as tax planning for corporations and partnerships. Blackstone is a CPA and a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Tax Executives Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Washington.

Knighton is vice president of Corporate Workflow Tools for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. He is responsible for developing and implementing document management, workflow, and data integration solutions for corporate tax customers. Knighton has 28 years of tax technology experience. He is a frequent speaker at professional meetings on tax technology integration in the workplace. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Knighton was a partner in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax Technology Consulting Practice.
