NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI, March 4, 2009 – FUJIFILM Electronic Materials has received Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award recognizing their significant contributions to Intel in 2008. FUJIFILM supplies Intel with advanced chemistry and equipment for semiconductor device manufacturing, deemed essential to Intel’s success. FUJIFILM and 25 additional suppliers are recognized as 2008 PQS award winners.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Intel in this way,” said Keiji Mihayashi, president and chief executive officer, FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc. “Fujifilm is an advanced technology manufacturer, so to be acknowledged for excellence by Intel whose own technology and brand demand such a high standard of achievement, means a great deal to all of us at Fujifilm Electronic Materials. We work as a partner with our colleagues at Intel, and it is only through this kind of close collaboration that we can realize this kind of success for our businesses.”
“We are pleased to recognize Fujifilm with a PQS award for providing exemplary materials and services to Intel. We appreciate their efforts in 2008 and look forward to their continued success in 2009,” said Kim Gupta, Chemical Gas Operations manager, Global Fab Materials, Intel Corporation.

The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality/business systems assessment. Furthermore, the 2008 awardees had to demonstrate basic compliance to the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct and Intel’s Green Sustainability Program. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at
Celebrations will be held in Tokyo, Japan and Santa Clara, California during the month of March 2009 to honor the PQS award winners. In addition, there will be an online advertisement launch and acknowledgement on Intel’s website.
