Mainbrayce - Chandlers - Alderney

Mainbrayce of Alderney has new owners and wins the water-taxi contract for 2009.

If you are planning to sail or motor to the Channel Islands this year, please pay a visit to Alderney the jewel of the Channel Islands. Long known as the Northern Isle it is the closest port to the UK and France selling all things duty free and with over 20,000 boating visitors every year the island knows how to provide good food and fantastic shopping for its visitors.

Along with the water-taxi Mainbrayce will also be responsible for the yachtsmen’s showers and launderette so hopefully we can help out in most situations.

Mainbrayce as the only chandler in Alderney offers a full range of nautical equipment and spare parts. Mainbrayce can help in most engineering situations and is a Seastart outpost. With its sister shop Anchors situated in St Annes offering yachtsmen and women a full range of casual and boating wear, we hope not to disappoint.

The price for the water-taxi is £1.50 each way (less than last year) and group discounts and out of hours services will be available. We aim to run all year, however during the season the service will be from 08.00 till 00.01. Out of hours and out of season it would be helpful if you made contact and booked us in advance to avoid delays.

Mainbrayce along with other local organisations is planning an open race/rally for cruising yachts over the summer solstice weekend (20/21st June). There will be a party and prize giving afterwoulds for the more adventurous! Please e-mail your interest as we need to limit the number of entrants.

Mainbracye will also be offering on-line sales of over 20,000 items which can be collected on arrival, more details will be published on the website later this year.
