Gartner Announces Finalists for the 2009 Business Intelligence Excellence Awards in Asia Pacific
Sydney, Australia — Technology research and advisory firm Gartner has announced the names of the three finalists for the 2009 Gartner Business Intelligence (BI) Excellence Award for Asia Pacific. The award will be presented at the company’s Business Intelligence and Information Management Summit next month.
The finalists are:
* Amcor Australasia (Melbourne, Australia)
* ICICI Bank (India)
* Tetrapak (Singapore)
The inaugural Asia Pacific awards attracted submissions from 20 organisations in six countries across the region, representing a wide variety of industry sectors including financial services, government, education, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications, utilities and retail.
Organisations submitted their applications for the Gartner BI Excellence Award based on a combination of business value, technical implementation and best practices as defined by the Gartner Business Intelligence and Performance Management Framework. Gartner’s BI research analysts evaluated the applicants and selected the three finalists, who will present their case studies at the BI Summit. Attendees will then vote to select the award winner.
Ian Bertram, Gartner managing vice president and chair of the 2009 Gartner BI Summit, said the quality of the responses received was outstanding and many of the submissions demonstrated global best practices.
“I can’t wait to see the finalists’ presentations on the day and find out who will be voted the ultimate winner of our BI Excellence awards,” said Mr. Bertram.
“Making better decisions and managing performance is even more critical in the current business climate. BI consistently appears as a top technology priority in Gartner surveys, for good reason. It remains high on the radar of CIOs because it turns business information into an asset that can take business performance to new levels.”
The Gartner Business Intelligence & Information Management Summit will be held at the Sydney Convention Centre on 24 and 25 February 2009. Now in its third year, it delivers a wide range of analyst presentations, case studies, roundtables and expert keynotes. Delegates also have the chance to network with and share the collective experience of peers from all over the Asia Pacific region. More information is available at www.gartner.com/ap/bi
