Free PAT Testing report outlines how people can save money on their Portable Appliance Testing

WEBWIRE

LONDON, UK, January 23, 2009 - The PAT Testing Advice Centre announces the availability of its free report for businesses and individuals on how they can save money on Portable Appliance Testing but still comply with all the electrical safety regulations and guidelines.

Electrical safety report

“Electrical safety is a serious business” explains James Murray of The PAT Testing Advice Centre. “It’s about protecting people and property. But it is still possible to take steps to save money.”

The 1989 Electricity at Work Regulations places specific responsibilities on business owners to make sure their electrical systems are safe. The PAT Testing Advice Centre report spends little time outlining these requirements as that information is available in detail directly on their website.

“What we wanted to do is put together a report that gave businesses and individuals some of the insider tips and tricks on how to reduce their PAT Testing bill. We think this information will be especially useful considering the economic climate we’re in,” explains James.

The guide is simply entitled “How to Save Money on PAT Testing” and is available from the PAT Testing Advice Centre website at http://www.pat-testing.com

The risks of electricity to individuals and businesses

According to the Health and Safety Executive, there are approximately 1,000 major electrical related injuries reported each year. These can involve burns and electrical shocks and of these injuries around 3% of them are fatal. Additionally, the government in their latest Fire Statistics Bulletin, report that 5,391 fires were caused by “other electrical appliances” in 2006. Of these fires, 1.3% resulted in a fatality.
