Combination of new office and Leitch Technology’s seven-year South Florida presence opens avenues to new business while facilitating access for customers

CINCINNATI, January 24, 2006 — As part of its ongoing global strategy and to better serve Latin American and Caribbean broadcasters, Harris Corporation’s (NYSE: HRS) Broadcast Communications Division today announced plans to open a new Miami office. Scheduled to open February 1, the new office will improve communications between regional Harris representatives and customers located throughout the area. Reduced travel times between the U.S. and destinations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean will allow Harris representatives to work more efficiently and respond more quickly to broadcast customer and dealer needs.

Harris’ recent acquisition of Leitch Technology means that the company will offer a significant amount of resources to Latin American and Caribbean broadcasters, revitalizing the commitment of Harris’ entire Broadcast Communications Division to the market. Leitch’s seven-year presence in the Miami office means that the two forces can directly collaborate for new business development, improved customer support and a greater regional presence.

“As Harris Broadcast Communications Division continues to grow as a total content delivery solutions provider, the company is making significant strides that improve customer service globally. Opening a new office to complement Leitch’s presence that serves a region comprising Latin America and the Caribbean is an excellent example of our efforts to bring Harris closer to its customers,” said Jeremy Wensinger, president of Harris Broadcast Communications Division. “The growth of digital television and HD Radio™ in Latin America reflects the importance of this market for Harris, and the opening of our Miami office demonstrates our commitment to expanding service within the region.”

“As a result of the acquisitions of Leitch and Encoda Systems, Harris has grown from a best-in-class TV and radio transmitter manufacturer to a world-class, leading provider of end-to-end total content delivery solutions,” said Nahuel Villegas, regional director for television and radio, Harris Caribbean and Latin America. “This new regional office is directly aligned with the company’s vision of having a truly local presence for all of its customers. Coupled with the strength of Leitch’s on-going presence, being in Miami affords Harris a stronger position throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Villegas will oversee the television and radio staff based in the new Miami office and will build a stronger customer support team by having representatives based in key countries of the region. The new office will feature a showroom area to display various end-to-end content delivery value propositions as well as products and solutions from all business units within the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. Customers visiting the Miami office will have full access to the showroom and may request a specific display of solutions and demos to coincide with their visits.

The new office is located at 703 Waterford Way, Suite 810, Miami, Florida 33126. Harris representatives at the office can be reached by phone at 786-437-1960.
