Industry expert joins Springbok from MasterCard® Worldwide to further protect the interest of existing clients and cardholders

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., — Nov. 13, 2008 — Springbok Services announced today its new director of compliance and risk management, Patti Ann Johnston, who joins the company from MasterCard Worldwide. In her new role, Johnston will augment Springbok’s focus on risk and compliance to further protect the interest of existing clients and cardholders.

“As the prepaid card industry continues to grow exponentially, prepaid card products are increasingly coming under scrutiny by state and federal regulators. With this increased scrutiny, it becomes even more important to employ an expert that is dedicated exclusively to overseeing risk and compliance activities,” said Brad Fauss, senior vice president, general counsel, Springbok Services. “We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Patti Ann’s pedigree and industry knowledge join our team. She will be a significant asset in structuring and monitoring our new products and services.”

Most recently, Johnston was an internal auditor for MasterCard Worldwide. Previously, she held security and risk analyst and management positions in MasterCard’s security and risk services department. Considered a leading expert in her field, Johnston has been a guest speaker on card fraud and risk topics at the FBI Academy, NYPD Academy and Cornell University.

“Springbok is an innovative company that allows creativity and visions to be explored and pursued. When I discovered the passion the company has for its products, and the importance it places on security and risk, I knew Springbok would be a perfect fit for me,” said Johnston. “Prepaid cards are of particular interest to me because the product characteristics are evolving and growing. With such a dynamic product it is essential to effectively mitigate and manage potential risk and regulatory compliance to ensure a secure environment. This is where I can provide value to Springbok, our clients and the prepaid card industry as a whole.”

Johnston holds an Executive M.S. degree in Economic Crime Management, and a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice – Economic Crime Investigation from Utica College of Syracuse University.
