Alma Media Acquires Vuodatus.Net Blogging Service

Iltalehti Oy, part of Alma Media Group, has acquired the Finnish blogging service, Vuodatus.net. The seller and the founder of the service, Mr. Tuomas Rinta, will resign from Monster.fi and join Vuodatus.net as of 3 November 2008. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.

Vuodatus.net will continue to operate as independent blogging service. “The in-depth web expertise of both Iltalehti team and the entire Alma Media Group offers an excellent framework for further development and improved user experience for the users of Vuodatus.net”, Tuomas Rinta says.

Vuodatus.net, founded in 2004, is a very popular blogging service, which is free for its users. The service is home to more than 50,000 blogs and 1.25 million blog posts. Some 1,500 new entries are posted in the service each day.

Iltalehti is the publisher for the third largest printed newspaper in Finland as well as for the most popular online media, Iltalehti.fi, which has regularly gained more than 1.5 million visitors weekly.
