Avid Ships DS Version 10

Creative online Hi-Res process accelerated with new version of integrated toolset


Tewksbury, Mass. — Avid Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVID) today announced that Avid® DS version 10 is now shipping in the U.S and is scheduled to begin shipping in Europe and Asia Pacific on September 19. Avid DS 10 is a solution designed to save customers time and money by offering professional editing, compositing, keying, image retouching, paint and graphics capabilities in a single application. The system runs on a new high-performance platform and includes the following key features: full color-managed workflows, advanced color correction capabilities, Interplay® support, improved conform options, GPU real-time processing, additional dual-link feature support, integration with Avid shared-storage solutions, and a new stereoscopic 3D container. The Avid DS 10 system also offers multi-stream, 10-bit uncompressed HD, Avid DNxHD® codec, and finishing and mastering of SD, HD-RGB, and 2k/4k file-based support with real-time playback up to 2K. With these new features, post facilities and broadcasters will be able to work more creatively, more effectively manage their project pipelines, and deliver the best end product to their customers.
