December 14, 2005, WASHINGTON, D.C. – NeuStar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR), a leading provider of essential clearinghouse services to the global communications and Internet industry, today announced it has successfully earned ISO 9001:2000 certification for the development, delivery and customer support functions of its Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) clearinghouse services. The certification demonstrates NeuStar’s standing as a quality-centric service provider, streamlining NeuStar’s commitment to continuously improving and delivering value to customers on a global basis.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is widely regarded as the world’s leading authority of quality standards and services. It is a network of national standards institutes across 156 countries that facilitate the development and exchange of intellectual, technological, scientific and business standards.

“Earning the prestigious ISO certification is a reflection of NeuStar’s total commitment to implementing quality procedures when delivering advanced, scalable and timely services to the communications industry,” said NeuStar Chairman and CEO Jeffrey E. Ganek.

“Achieving ISO 9000 status is no small feat. Our drive to deliver quality products and services is the foundation for NeuStar’s Operational Excellence program, which streamlines quality, process and project management across the company.”
NeuStar’s Operational Excellence program provides the company with a unique methodology to measure and manage organizational, process and project performance. It is tightly integrated with NeuStar’s overall business plan, so customers receive optimal value from every product and service provided by NeuStar. The Operational Excellence program has enabled NeuStar to implement a formal quality management methodology, which was critical in achieving ISO 9000 certification for the NPAC.

“Our Operational Excellence program, together with existing quality procedures, have resulted in NeuStar’s highest-ever customer satisfaction ratings measured by surveys,” continued Ganek.
NeuStar’s ISO 9001:2000 certification was completed through the Quality Management Institute, which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute – Registrar Accreditation Board of the USA (ANSI-RAB), the Standards Council of Canada, entidada mexicana de acreditación a.c. and other important governing bodies.

ISO certification is issued only after a rigorous review to determine whether an organization meets or exceeds 54 global quality management standards. Following certification, additional improvement levels are also identified to ensure quality levels are constantly raised.
