Weis Markets Completes Expansion And Remodel Of Broadheadsville Store
Weis Markets today said it had completed the 14,000-square-foot expansion and extensive remodel of its Brodheadsville (Chestnut Hill Township) store.
As part of the Grand Re-Opening celebration, which will be held starting this Saturday, June 21, the Company announced it has donated $20,000 to Pocono Medical Center for the start-up of its Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit.
As a result of the project, the 67,000-square-foot store now has all the features and decor of Weis Markets’ newest store design including: a larger produce department with an increased selection of organic produce, an expanded deli, an upgraded and expanded bakery, larger meat and seafood departments, an international cheese section with an olive bar and six additional aisles of grocery, including expanded frozen and dairy departments.
The store’s landscaping has also been improved. A new line of evergreen trees have been planted along Weir Lake Road and Route 209 which border the store site. There are also more shrubs and plantings around the store.
As part of the Grand Re-Opening celebration this Saturday (6/21), the store will donate $2,000 to local groups including: $1000 to the West End Fire Company; $500 to the food pantry of the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network in Saylorsburg; and $500 to the Western Pocono Community Library.
