West Caldwell, NJ, April 2008 — Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, will host an “Employee Electronics Recycle Program” on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22nd. As part of Ricoh’s Total Green Office Solution environmental program the Recycles Day mission is to get everyone to recycle unwanted electronic equipment and to keep it out of landfills. Employees at Ricoh’s New Jersey facilities in Montville and West Caldwell as well as three Ricoh locations in Atlanta will be participating in the program.

Ricoh, a recognized leader in environmental conservation and a charter member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program, will set up collection sites at its facilities for employees to drop off unwanted computers, keyboards, televisions, modems, fax machines, printers, scanners, handheld games, telephones, cell phones, cameras, pagers, VCRs, tape decks, CD players, movie projectors, tape recorders, radios, and other electronic products. All of the equipment that is collected will be sent to a certified de-manufacturer to be processed. The materials will be returned to the appropriate commodity materials streams for use in manufacturing other products. Zero material will be disposed in landfills. “Ricoh continues to be a leader in creating environmentally friendly products that reduce ozone layer depletion, global warming, toxic waste and reducing carbon footprints,” said Kirk Yoshida, chairman & CEO of Ricoh Americas Corporation. “The preservation and protection of the environment is critical to Ricoh and is top of mind in the development of all of our products, as we not only seek to give back to our customers and employees, but to protect our plant as well.”
