Oscar Screen Credits and Music Submission Entry Forms due December 1

Beverly Hills, CA — Thursday, December 1, is the deadline to submit Official Screen Credits (OSC) and music submission forms to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 78th Academy Awards® consideration.

For a feature film to be considered for the 2005 awards, the distributor or producer must file an OSC form with the Academy on or before the December 1 deadline. If completed OSC forms are not filed by 5 p.m., the feature’s title will not be included in the Reminder List of Eligible Releases – the list of 2005 films eligible for Academy Award consideration.

For nomination eligibility in the Original Score, Original Song and Original Musical categories, the principal music writer(s) must submit an official music submission form for a feature film on or before December 1.

Though the credits submission deadline is December 1, feature films have until midnight, December 31, to open in Los Angeles County and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days to be eligible for 2005 Academy Award consideration.

Entries in the Foreign Language, Animated Feature, Documentary and Short Film categories are subject to special rules and must meet other qualifying criteria. All of the entry deadlines in these categories have already passed.

The 78th Academy Award nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at 5:30 a.m. PST, in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements for 2005 will be presented on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PST.
