Wireless Leader Secures Exclusive Rights to Spectacular Signage at NFL Championship Pre-Game Promotions at Mixed Use Real Estate Development

Clear Channel Branded Cities, a division of Clear Channel Outdoor, today announced a contract with Sprint for sponsorship of NFL championship pre-game activities at Westgate City Center. This unique entertainment, shopping, dining and residential destination in Glendale, Arizona is located within walking distance of the University of Phoenix Stadium, home stadium of Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the venue selected to host the 2008 NFL championship game. Sprint is the most recent company to secure exclusive rights to the extraordinary branding, signage and promotional opportunities available at Westgate City Center.

Specifically, Sprint has exclusive signage rights in the wireless provider category for the NFL championship pre-game festivities, having already enjoyed this valuable, premiere position at promotional events around this month’s Fiesta Bowl and at tailgate parties for the Arizona Cardinals at Westgate. In addition, Sprint will sponsor local celebrity and former and current NFL football player parades and autograph sessions from January 31 – February 2, as well as the “SPRINT Phone-A-Friend” promotion, where patrons can have an NFL VIP place a call to a friend or family member, wishing them well from the home of the “Big Game.”

“We are celebrating the 2008 NFL championship game at Westgate because we believe this development is on the leading edge of how big events will be hosted in the future,” said Mark Evans, sponsorship & sports marketing manager for Sprint. “Westgate is the ideal venue to promote our Phone-A-Friend concept in an engaging, brand-enhancing environment.”

Clear Channel Branded Cities is developing large-scale branding opportunities for Westgate. Phase One of the project includes over 30 media signs as large as 100 feet in height, and a full-motion LED screen spanning 1500 square feet, recently unveiled in the Events Plaza at Westgate. Westgate spectacular signage represents the largest collective grouping of media structures outside of Times Square in New York City. Anchors Jobing.com Arena and the University of Phoenix Stadium are helping establish Westgate as the premiere private mixed use development in the United States.

“Our partnership with this wireless leader demonstrates that Westgate is delivering high-impact marketing opportunities through interactive entertainment,” said Chris McCarver, Clear Channel Branded Cities General Manager. “Branded Cities will continue to roll out technology applications to make this live, work, play destination even more dynamic.”

Branded Cities continues to construct major integrated marketing partnerships at Westgate where corporate brands can gain access to the development’s many retail and commercial tenants, as well as the approximately 26 million people expected to visit Westgate annually.
For example, Nissan North America and Qwest recently signed on as “Official Automotive” and “Preferred Voice Data and Video Provider” partners, respectively, at Westgate.
