Speciality Dealer Days Target Retailers, Installers And Integrators At The 2008 International CES

The 2008 International CES®, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, today announced a new conference and certification program specifically for more than 14,000 specialty retailers, professional installers and integrators, the Specialty Dealer Days Program. CES returns to Las Vegas January 7-10, 2008.

The Specialty Dealer Days program, presented by Electronic House (EH), runs January 7 and 8, the first two days of the show and prominently features the latest advancements in small retail, installation and integration. This first-of-its-kind program will cover the aspects of specialty retail, including cable, DSL, fiber and WiMax modems, hubs, routers and switches, media extenders and receivers, sales, installation, repair and monitoring, structured wired cables, wall plates and boxes, plus VOIP hardware and software.

As a key element of this new program, luncheon speakers will deliver addresses on both days: Eric Bodley, senior sales director, Monster Cable will present “Maximizing Every Sale” on Monday, January 7 and Mike Itallano, president and CEO, Market Transformation to Sustainability will explore “Sustainability 101” on Tuesday, January 8. Participants will also have access to CES Keynote VIP passes and a designated Specialty Dealer Lounge, sponsored by CustomRetailer and CE Pro magazines, in the LVCC, South Hall, Booth 25334. Participants can relax, and visit the resource center which has details on buying groups, distributors, the DTV coupon program and CEA membership. Attendees must register as a Buyer or Systems Installer/Integrator to qualify for participation.

Some of CES’ major specialty retail, installation and integration exhibitors include: Control4, D-Link, Digeo, HAI, Kimber Kable, Lutron, MoCA, Monster Cable, Smart Labs, Sonos, Stewart Filmscreen, Russound and Vantage Point.

Attendees can also earn certification in CEA-COMPTIA DHTI+ or attend the full day CONNECTIONS™ Summit which covers home controls and systems, home networking and consumer entertainment products and services. There are also THX and ESPA certification classes on Wednesday and Thursday.
