Top Industry Leaders Slated To Speak At The 2007 CEA Industry Forum

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced today the lineup of top industry leaders slated to speak at the 2007 CEA Industry Forum, including keynote addresses from Barney Wragg, Global Head of Digital, EMI Group and Chip Heath, New York Times bestselling author. A four-day event designed to inform, connect and educate consumer electronics professionals on the latest trends, technologies and legislation affecting the industry, the 2007 CEA Industry Forum is scheduled for October 14-17, at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

CEA industry analysts will kick off the Industry Forum 9 a.m. Monday, October 15, with the highly anticipated 2007 Holiday Sales and Forecast. CEA will release its annual CE industry projections for 2007 holiday sales and highlight the hottest technology products for the same season.

CEA Market Research also will unveil their first-ever worldwide CE sales statistics, providing global CE sales figures by product and region; analysis of CE ownership and media consumption and expenditures; review of retail channels and the CE shopping process and analysis of psychographic differences between consumers of different countries.

Wragg’s keynote address is slated for noon on Monday, October 15. As the Global Head of Digital for EMI Group, Wragg will discuss EMI’s recent implementation of DRM-free music sales to address the growing consumer demand for anytime, anywhere access to digital entertainment content.

Tuesday’s luncheon keynote will feature Chip Heath, co-author of the New York Times bestseller Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die. Heath will discuss his bestselling book and strategies used to make ideas prosper into success.


In conjunction with the CEA Industry Forum, the CE Hall Fame Dinner, which is open to press, will be held Tuesday evening. Eleven new members of the CE Hall of Fame will be inducted and honored for their efforts to improve the lifestyles of consumers. Honorees include Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft; Amar Bose, founder and chairman of Bose Electronics and Richard M. Schulze, founder and chairman of Best Buy.


Industry Forum also will feature a CES press briefing and a variety of interactive conference sessions on issues such as acoustic branding and scent marketing, the latest in the distributed content environment, brand protection and the latest trends in the electronic toy category.
