Royal Group, a dynamic multi-discipline business group that manages a conglomerate of 40 medium to large companies across seven industries, has lowered operational costs by leveraging the Oracle© E-Business Suite and business consulting and process re-engineering recommendations provided by Infosys Technologies, Ltd (NASDAQ: INFY). Together, Infosys and Oracle helped Royal Group streamline the business processes and standardize the infrastructure of 11 highly diverse companies within the conglomerate.

Royal Group engaged Infosys Technologies to deploy the Oracle E-Business Suite because of Infosys’ Global Delivery Model approach and deep knowledge of packaged applications. The implementation of Oracle Financials, Oracle Order Management, Oracle Advanced Procurement, Oracle Inventory Management and Oracle Human Resources Management System, which are all applications in the Oracle E-Business Suite, have increased efficiency and enhanced Royal Group’s operational infrastructure to support further expansion. The first deployment phase was completed in six months and the second phase went live in three months. The implementation has enabled Royal Group to reduce the time required to close financial accounts from 30 days to three, while successfully launching two new businesses.

“The real-time availability of information is a big business enabler for Royal Group”, said Saje Thomas, CEO, Royal Group. “Infosys has enabled the entire organization to unify business processes, a benefit driven by the best practices and functionality in the Oracle E-Business Suite. As a result of our initial success with Infosys and Oracle, we intend to deploy this solution at all companies within the conglomerate in 2007.”

“The unique challenges faced by the implementation team in terms of change management, infrastructure and employee learning curves were successfully overcome. We are forging ahead with the implementation for the remaining companies and hope to demonstrate substantial progress and achieve a return on investment by the year end,” said Shine George, Head - Group I.T.

Infosys has successfully completed two phases of implementation for Royal Group. In subsequent phases, Royal Group plans to deploy Oracle Projects Oracle Payroll and Oracle Manufacturing, both part of the Oracle E-Business Suite, at other group companies to address key business challenges.

“Infosys’s expertise in leveraging Oracle Applications is a valuable tool for companies who wish to solve major IT headaches,” said Andy Bailey, senior vice president of Worldwide SI Alliances, at Oracle. “Royal Group’s successful implementation demonstrates how organizations are seeing the value of Oracle’s global alliance with Infosys firsthand, and are benefiting not only from Infosys’ implementation experience but also from the best in class functionality of Oracle Applications.”
