Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, introduced today a new version of its Print & Copy Control (PCC v3) software solution embedded in its multifunction products (MFPs). Print & Copy Control integrates with Equitrac Office™ 4 and Equitrac Express™ 4 software solutions to offer several enhancements that further manage content and information and offer a secure environment for Ricoh MFPs.
Print & Copy Control creates a secure environment where only authenticated users can release their documents through a PIN code, user ID/password or an identification card. By allowing the user to manage all account information and reporting from one central location, Print & Copy Control saves both time and money by eliminating the need to install, configure and service external copy control terminals. All transactions are processed for centralized accounting and reporting, helping organizations define a document output strategy that delivers new levels of efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The software is simply installed on the hard drive of the MFP and is controlled on the built-in front panel touch-screen display.

In addition, this new version of Print & Copy Control contains several upgrades not found on the previous edition. First of all, Print & Copy Control now supports network installation for easier deployment and configuration in Enterprise environments. Its new server-based licensing and pricing model uses 1, 10, 100 and 500 MFP license packs, enabling businesses that connect multiple MFPs through a network to integrate its machines seamlessly. Furthermore, Print & Copy Control now offers optional external card reader support for security authentication, which is compatible with several card readers including Magstripe, HID proximity, Legic and Milfare.

Print & Copy Control works in conjunction with the Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 software solutions. As the world’s leader in document accounting and cost-recovery software, Equitrac’s renewed solutions allow for easy and effective control of document output costs. This continued partnership enhances both companies’ mutual commitment to provide organizations an effective solution to monitor and manage documents and expenses. Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 integrate seamlessly with Ricoh’s Print & Copy Control, providing businesses with the best possible content management tools.

“Ricoh is proud to partner with Equitrac in order to provide our customers with the best possible solution for integration with our MFPs,” said Hede Nonaka, senior vice president, Document Solutions and Services Division, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “The upgrades made on this new version of Print & Copy Control provide users with unparallel control, security and cost-savings.”
