Stories of Curiosity, Courage, and Second Chances Take the Spotlight at Frankfurt Book Fair 2026

Four books exploring curiosity, moral choices, adventure, and resilience will come together at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026 as part of The Maple Staple’s exhibition, with Inks & Bindings joining as co-exhibitor.

From October 7 to 11, the titles by Johanna Patrick, Randal Eades, Quentin Hamma Tagara, and Gina K. Trehus will be available for visitors to see in person at Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, at Hall 5.1, Stand D86.

Johanna Patrick’s “Tooth Fairy Confidential (Investigations of Jojo P.)” follows JoJo, a young girl who becomes suspicious about the Tooth Fairy after losing her second tooth. Unlike Santa Claus, whom she has encountered at the mall, the Tooth Fairy remains a mystery, prompting JoJo to conduct her own investigative experiments after hearing conflicting stories from adults. Set around Christmas and bringing the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus together, the children’s book encourages young readers to ask questions and examine the world around them.

Patrick is an author and tour director with a degree in Russian Language and Literature. She spent two years in the Peace Corps teaching sixth through eleventh grade English in Kyrgyzstan before beginning a career directing tours around the world, where she developed an appreciation for stories, travel, puzzles, and mystery games.

Randal Eades’ “Temple Builders: Obey Your Parents, The Chosen Path Collection” centers on stories intended to help children develop moral character and understand the difference between right and wrong. Rooted in biblical values, the book uses the Divine Dove and the Sneaky Snake as symbolic representations of good and wrong, allowing children to consider the choices presented in each story.

Eades and his wife, Teressa, have five children, 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Their family life and commitment to prayer and faith inform the values behind his writing for children.

In “The Adventures of Old Jang and Soongo,” Quentin Hamma Tagara takes readers on a magical journey through the Pacific. Retired U.S. Army veteran Old Jang returns to his island home with Soongo, a special companion he acquired on the docks of Japan, and discovers that the animal possesses mysterious gifts and unusual strength. Together, they pursue childhood dreams through adventures beyond Jang’s expectations.

Born and raised in Ewa, Hawaii, Tagara draws inspiration from childhood experiences and life events. He survived being struck by a drunk driver as a teenager, completed college, and spent 37 years working in special education as a paraprofessional, intern, and professional. He now lives with his wife of 47 years and enjoys time with their dog and five grandchildren.

Gina K. Trehus’ “Let’s Take a Walk” turns an ordinary walk into the beginning of a life-changing story. Amalia Rose witnesses a crime in California and spends 11 years in protective custody, eventually returning to her North Dakota hometown and building a new life with her husband and daughter. When the past threatens the peace she has created, Amalia must decide whether to continue running or finally stand her ground. The novel considers healing, memory, resilience, belonging, and the lasting marks left by difficult experiences.

Trehus, who lives in North Dakota with two dogs and a cat, draws on lessons of dedication and perseverance learned while spending summers working on her grandparents’ farm.

Together, the four books demonstrate the breadth of stories that can emerge from personal experience, imagination, faith, and a desire to help readers consider the choices that shape their lives. At the Frankfurt Book Fair, visitors will have an opportunity to view and discover more of the books and explore the collection at The Maple Staple and Inks & Bindings’ Stand D86.
