“The Jane Sparks Trilogy” Brings Crime Mysteries to Frankfurt Book Fair 2026

A series of increasingly complex investigations unfolds across “The Jane Sparks Trilogy” by Xiomara Rodriguez, a collection of crime mysteries centered on twin sisters whose investigative careers place them in the midst of dangerous and intricate cases. The trilogy will be displayed by The Maple Staple at the 78th Frankfurt Book Fair, taking place October 7–11, 2026, at Messe Frankfurt, Hall 5.1, Stand D86.

The trilogy begins with “How Could It Be,” which introduces Jane and Fran as they investigate a murder and a smuggling operation while confronting a family mystery of their own. “And the Story Continues” shifts the sisters into the world of horse racing, where criminal activity operates beneath the sport’s competitive surface. The third installment, “New Beginning Maybe?” turns their attention to stolen art and antiquities while introducing developments that lead the sisters along different paths in their personal and professional lives. Together, the three narratives establish an evolving investigative framework in which each case presents distinct circumstances, suspects, and challenges.

Xiomara Rodriguez draws upon an extensive professional background that informs her interest in investigative storytelling. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she moved to the mainland United States at age 27 and served for 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, including a decade as a Special Agent with the Coast Guard Investigative Service. She became the first Hispanic woman to serve as a CGIS Special Agent. Her longstanding interest in mystery fiction, which began with Nancy Drew and later expanded to authors such as Patricia Cornwell and Sidney Sheldon, accompanies an early ambition to write that led to short stories and poetry published in college and literary magazines.

At the Frankfurt Book Fair, “The Jane Sparks Trilogy” will introduce international readers and literary professionals to Rodriguez’s approach to crime fiction, combining investigative suspense with cases that move through distinct criminal environments. The collection may appeal to readers who enjoy detective narratives, police and federal investigations, complex mysteries, and recurring protagonists whose professional cases intersect with personal developments.

Free copies of the trilogy will be distributed at The Maple Staple booth throughout the five-day event, offering attendees an opportunity to explore all three installments and the continuing investigations of Jane Sparks and Fran Morris.
