He was twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, won second place in the annual contest of the Connecticut Poetry Society in 2019, and received grants from both the Worcester Arts Council and the Mass Cultural Council in 2023. He also taught college English and creative writing for 20 years. Curtin passed away in August 2024, and his wife of 43 years, Dee O’Connor, continues to honor and share his literary legacy.
