Born in Clinton, Iowa, in 1953, William J. White spent his formative years in Maquoketa, where he found himself caught in the undercurrent of the 1970s drug culture. Following a miraculous escape from the dangers of drug addiction, he relocated to California in 1976 to reconnect with family. There, he built a life focused on community service, spending over a decade influencing local youth as a dedicated baseball and wrestling coach. He stepped away from coaching to put his experiences into writing, completing “The Voyage of A Wiseman” to share critical insights and spearhead a message of awareness and healing.
