Today, Anheuser-Busch [NYSE: BUD], a leading American manufacturer and maker of Michelob ULTRA, Busch Light, Budweiser, Bud Light and Cutwater Spirits, celebrated its continued investment in St. Louis, building on more than 165 years of brewing, manufacturing, and economic impact in its hometown. The company marked the occasion by unveiling a newly restored animated “A & Eagle” sign atop its flagship brewery, a symbol of its commitment to the people, capabilities, and community that continue to shape its future.

Earlier this year, Anheuser-Busch announced more than $20 million in investments across its Missouri operations, including upgrades to brewery and packaging equipment and the creation of a new technical skills training center. These investments build on the company’s longstanding history of brewing and manufacturing excellence in St. Louis, while expanding the brewery’s capabilities and preparing its workforce for the future. Over the last five years, the company has invested $200 million in its Missouri facilities, as part of nearly $2 billion invested in its total U.S. operations, reflecting its continued belief in American manufacturing and the people who make it possible.

Brendan Whitworth, CEO, Anheuser-Busch said: “For more than 165 years, generations of our people have shaped the future of American manufacturing by making the country’s most beloved beers and beyond right here in St. Louis. As we look to the future, we’ll continue to invest in our brewery, our workforce, and new capabilities to ensure the city remains a hub for brewing innovation and manufacturing leadership. We remain committed to making the products consumers love today and will love for generations to come here in our hometown.”

Ninety-nine percent of the beer Anheuser-Busch sells in the U.S. is made in the U.S., with much of that production taking place in Missouri. The company employs more than 2,800 people across the state and continues to invest in workforce development through its Technical Excellence Center in St. Louis, where more than 2,600 employees have received training since 2022. The company aims to upskill more than 90% of its manufacturing workforce across the U.S. over the next five years.

The newly installed animated “A & Eagle” sign reflects both Anheuser-Busch’s rich heritage and its future investments in American manufacturing. Originally designed in 1951 to depict an eagle soaring in flight, the over 15-ton sign now sits 215 feet above the brewery campus, making it the tallest point on the company’s St. Louis campus. Though distinguished by its double-sided design and rotation, this sign’s design is nearly identical to the beloved “Aerie” sign that overlooks Interstate 64 in St. Louis and will serve as another lasting symbol of Anheuser-Busch’s connection to its hometown and its ongoing investment in its people and manufacturing capabilities.

Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe said: “Anheuser-Busch has been a cornerstone of Missouri manufacturing and economic growth for generations. The company’s continued investments in St. Louis reinforce its longstanding commitment to Missouri workers, local communities, and the future of American manufacturing. With policies like the American Beer Act, Missouri is creating an environment where brewers and manufacturers can innovate, grow, and deliver lasting opportunity for hardworking families. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and the positive impact Anheuser-Busch continues to have across our state.”

The recent Missouri investments are part of Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing Brewing Futures initiative through which the company is investing $600 million in its U.S. operations across 2025 and 2026. The initiative builds on Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to investing in people, breweries and communities by creating and sustaining manufacturing jobs, building the manufacturing workforce for the future, and strengthening manufacturing career opportunities for veterans.

For more than 165 years, Anheuser-Busch has helped drive manufacturing, economic growth, and opportunity in St. Louis. Earlier this year, the company was inducted into the Missouri Manufacturers Hall of Fame, underscoring its longstanding contributions to the state’s economy and manufacturing leadership. The restored A & Eagle sign will stand as a lasting symbol of the company’s continued investment in its hometown for generations to come.

Beginning September 1 and continuing through September 5, Anheuser-Busch will offer free Sunset Tours of the St. Louis Brewery, giving members of the community an opportunity to visit the brewery and view the illuminated A & Eagle sign firsthand.
