Howard Blazek Presents Two Psychological Paths to Healing (Resilience and Self-Growth) at the Manila International Book Fair 2026
Two books. Two stages of one remarkable life. Together, they show how a person’s understanding of health and healing can continue to grow across a lifetime.
Howard Blazek knows what it means to lose control, rebuild, and search for a healthier way forward. Through two very different but closely connected books, he shares both the story of a mental health crisis and the practical activities that later helped him move toward greater health and balance.
One tells the story of a mental health crisis he experienced as a young man. The other shares practices he began using decades later to support his physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Together, they show how a person’s understanding of health and healing can continue to grow across a lifetime.
It begins with “The Change Center: A Week on a Ward,” Howard’s candid memoir about a mental breakdown he experienced in his late twenties and the week he spent in a closed psychiatric ward. Notes he began writing during his recovery later became the book, offering a personal look at mental illness and the importance of support from family and friends.
His second book, “Wellness Mind-Body Activities,” shares practical techniques that later helped him improve his physical and emotional well-being, including yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, affirmations, hand mudras, and Emotional Freedom Technique. With degrees in psychology and education and a long career in teaching and instructional design, Howard now uses his experiences to encourage greater self-understanding and hope.
The Eagle Literary is proud to represent Howard Blazek to showcase his memoirs at the 2026 Manila International Book Fair. The Philippines’ longest-running and largest book fair, attracting more than 160,000 visitors, from publishers to authors to educators, and readers of all ages.
The fair will be held from September 9 to 13, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila. Visitors to the fair are invited to discover these books at Booth 2-107 under the exhibit of “The Eagle Literary.” They are also available on various online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
