Marugame Udon to Open New Location in Rowland Heights

Marugame Udon, the globally recognized Japanese fast-casual restaurant known for its handcrafted Sanuki-style udon and freshly made tempura, will open its newest Southern California location in Rowland Heights, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, following a grand opening press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located at 1015 S. Nogales Street #124, Rowland Heights, CA 91748, next to 99 Ranch Market, at TAWA Marketplace, the newest Marugame Udon — the chain’s 23rd U.S. restaurant — continues Marugame Udon’s expansion across California, bringing its signature made-from-scratch approach to one of Southern California’s hottest Asian food hubs.

Special Menu Item Exclusive to Rowland Heights

Marugame Udon will introduce a brand new dish called the “Malatang Udon”, which will only be available at the new Rowland Heights location. Inspired by the spicy and fiery hot Sichuan dish, this will be a treat for lovers of spicy food.

At the center of the experience is Marugame Udon’s open kitchen concept, where guests can watch udon masters prepare noodles fresh throughout the day. From kneading and cutting to boiling and serving, every bowl is crafted in full view, creating a lively and engaging environment from the moment guests arrive.

This location features Marugame Udon’s signature, step-by-step dining journey — from selecting freshly made udon and tempura to customizing bowls with a variety of garnishes — highlighting both the craftsmanship of the kitchen and the warmth of the dining space. Guests can expect a menu centered around Marugame Udon’s signature dishes, including kamaage udon, kake udon, and a rotating selection of crispy tempura prepared throughout the day.
