The House of Representatives has passed two bills, H.R. 1867 and H.R. 1868, as part of its Innovation Agenda of legislative proposals designed to help preserve and expand the nation’s innovation economy. The two bills dealt with, respectively, funding for the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The following statement can be attributed to Michael Petricone, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs for the Consumer Electronics Association: “We applaud the recent actions of the House in approving key elements of the Innovation Agenda. To maintain our economic competitiveness, we need to ensure that this nation is leading the way in providing the world’s best research and development programs for science, technology, engineering and math. The Innovation Agenda provides the necessary steps needed to invest in our country’s future innovators and the important work they do to keep us at the forefront of global technology.”
