VA Rivera Heads to The Reading Glass Books for Holiday Book Signing

The Reading Glass Books welcomed children’s author VA Rivera for a book signing at The Reading Glass Books in Quaker Bridge Mall on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Rivera, a retired educator passionate about fostering creativity in young minds, introduced readers to the playful world of her books, including “I Am Puppy,” “Kids Read and Write Japanese Haiku,” and “Kids Read and Write Japanese Tanka.” Each book combined engaging storytelling with a love for learning and creative expression.

“I Am Puppy” is a charming tale full of imagination, illustrated by Brooklyn Liu, inviting children into Puppy’s world of wonder, surprise, and playful discovery. In “Kids Read and Write Japanese Haiku,” Rivera guides children ages 6–11 through the fun of crafting haiku, while “Kids Read and Write Japanese Tanka” encourages kids ages 8 and up to explore tanka poetry, fostering creativity and emotional expression.

Readers who attended the signing had a chance to participate in a live poetry workshop. Titled “Kids Can Read and Write: Sample Poetry Workshop,” Rivera led the session from 4:00 PM onward, allowing children to engage in fun poetry exercises and receive guidance directly from the author.
