Six months after launch, Travalyst – the independent not-for-profit coalition of leading travel and technology companies founded by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex – has accelerated the development of its Data Hub from foundational phase to readying for global deployment.

Introduced in September 2025, the Data Hub is designed to unlock the flow of fragmented sustainability data across the travel ecosystem, with the ultimate aim of telling the sustainability story of every business and every trip.

Now, Travalyst is one step closer to achieving that ambition, thanks to the strength and depth of its coalition. With the initial focus on accommodation, the development of the Data Hub’s technical infrastructure has been fast-tracked through collaboration with coalition partner Amadeus’ ‘Tech4Impact’ programme, which supports technology initiatives designed to drive positive industry transformation.

The collaboration has resulted in the launch of a native mobile app, a significant step forward in enabling offline, field-based sustainability data capture – particularly important for the inclusion of small businesses in global sustainability reporting. The new mobile app allows accommodation providers to capture sustainability data at source – even in low-connectivity environments – improving usability while strengthening data quality.

The development of the app is particularly valuable for smaller or remote operators, and advances Travalyst’s ambition to unlock credible, compliant and consistent sustainability data for the industry as a whole. Practical application of the tech will soon be applied in the field by one of Travalyst’s coalition partners.

The advancement of both the technical infrastructure of the Data Hub and its imminent practical application in pilot projects in the field, reflects the Travalyst coalition’s commitment to building, testing and deploying pre-competitive infrastructure that benefits the entire travel ecosystem.

“Through our skills-based Tech4Impact volunteering programme, we are proud to support the acceleration of the Data Hub. Shared infrastructure that improves the quality, consistency and accessibility of sustainability data is essential for the future of travel. By collaborating across the ecosystem, we can help ensure that credible information flows efficiently to the platforms and businesses that rely on it.” Heddy Ring, Global Head of Community Impact, Amadeus

In addition, the Data Hub has entered a pilot phase of ingesting and distributing certification data through its infrastructure. Recently launched, the second iteration of Travalyst’s certifications initiative provides an optional mechanism for schemes to self-declare their compliance with the incoming EU Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive. By integrating certification visibility into shared data architecture, Travalyst improves consistency of the distribution of sustainability information across platforms.

The coalition has also initiated further development of the transport vertical, introducing rail emissions information into the Data Hub. In partnership with climate technology platform SQUAKE, Travalyst is reviewing their rail emissions methodology and prototyping technical integration within the Data Hub.

The transport expansion reflects the Data Hub’s multi-vertical architecture, designed from inception to extend beyond aviation (via the Travel Impact Model), and accommodation, with the rail rollout expected later this year.

Julie Cheetham, CEO Travalyst, said: “The strength in depth of our coalition as we work towards building a more sustainable future for the travel and tourism industry is plain to see. It’s incredibly exciting to witness what can be achieved in such a short space of time when we work to our strengths and collaborate meaningfully. Our focus remains clear: align first, scale responsibly, and ensure that sustainability information flows credibly and consistently to travellers, businesses and destinations across the industry.”

The Data Hub remains open to collaboration across the travel ecosystem. Travalyst invites data contributors, distributors and strategic partners to help scale shared sustainability infrastructure that supports compliance, transparency and informed decision-making.
