The MICHELIN Guide announced the countrywide expansion of its restaurant selection in Poland. For the first time, The MICHELIN Guide Poland will feature restaurants from across the entire nation, with the selection being announced on Wednesday 27 th May 2026.

Over the last few years, The MICHELIN Guide’s Inspectors have evaluated restaurants in Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław and the Pomorskie Region, uncovering a deep well of culinary talent. Having witnessed the fast development of Polish dining in these destinations, the Inspectors are excited to widen their searches and spotlight more gems across this vast and varied country.

“We are delighted to expand The MICHELIN Guide Poland to include the entirety of this wonderful country, and to recognize an even greater variety of talented chefs. A huge range of new regions, from towns and cities like Białystok, Katowice and Łódź, to seaside resorts and rural villages, will join our existing selections in Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław and the Pomorskie Region,” commented Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guide.

“Our famously anonymous Inspectors have been exploring the length and breadth of Poland, from Szczecin in the west to Lublin in the east, Gdańsk in the north to Zakopane in the south. While the Inspectors’ travels are ongoing, they have already been impressed by the continued development of Polish dining and the growing pride of homegrown chefs in their country’s cuisine and its produce. The quality they have found already suggests that the upcoming Poland selection will include many memorable discoveries for gourmets and travelers.”

Magdalena Krucz, President of the Polish Tourism Organization, added: “The national selection of The MICHELIN Guide for Poland is the result of a long-term strategy implemented by the Polish Tourism Organization, in which gastronomy plays a key role in building the country’s brand. This is a moment of both strategic and symbolic importance, it confirms that many years of consistent efforts to promote a high-quality tourism offering are delivering tangible results.

“Behind this success are people: talented chefs, local food producers, restaurateurs and entire teams who passionately create experiences that remain in travelers’ memories. We are observing a clear increase in the number of tourists visiting Poland, including a dynamically growing segment of travelers for whom culinary experiences are one of the main factors in choosing a destination. Being featured in The MICHELIN Guide strengthens the international credibility of our offer and translates directly into growing interest in Poland as a destination for discerning travelers.”

The MICHELIN Guide is constantly observing the evolution of culinary destinations around the world. MICHELIN works with Destination Marketing Organizations, or tourist boards, to promote the travel industry in their respective locations. However, The MICHELIN Guide’s selection process remains completely independent. The selections are fully determined by our anonymous Inspectors, and The MICHELIN Guide is working with the Polish Tourism Organization on marketing and promotion activities only.

The upcoming Poland restaurant selection will follow The MICHELIN Guide’s historical methodology, based on five universal criteria to ensure consistency between each selection: the quality of the ingredients; the harmony of flavors; the mastery of cooking techniques; the personality of the chef as expressed through the cuisine; consistency, both across the entire menu and over time.

The MICHELIN Guide remains a reliable companion for any traveler seeking a great restaurant experience. The Guide was first published in France at the turn of the 20th century, to encourage tire sales by giving practical advice to French motorists. The Inspectors still use the same selection criteria that have been used since the very beginning and continue to apply them in destinations around the world.

This newly expanded selection for Poland will showcase the country’s restaurant scene and shine a light on its many talented chefs, embracing their passion, creativity and respect for local culinary traditions.

The restaurants will be joined by The MICHELIN Guide’s hotel selection, which features the most unique and exciting places to stay in Poland and throughout the world. The selection features over 8,000 hotels in more than 130 countries, with options across a range of budgets. Each hotel has been chosen by The MICHELIN Guide Inspectors for its extraordinary style, service and personality — and each can be booked directly through The MICHELIN Guide’s website and app.

From the soothing design at Hotel Copernicus in Kraków, to the 19 th-century grandeur of Raffles Euopejski Warsaw in the capital, via the fairy-tale castle Zamek Łeba nestled between the sea and the National Park in Łeba, you’ll find something to suit every taste. The MICHELIN Guide is a benchmark in gastronomy; now it’s also setting a new standard for hotels.
