“Four Minutes Past Midnight: A Moment in Eternity” represents the culmination of Srivatsa’s decades-long promise to unveil his father’s deeply moving, yet undisclosed, classified, wartime story.
The author dedicated more than ten years to meticulously verifying and reconstructing a life that had been lived in secrecy for so long, including a wealth of original letters, rare photographs, official documents, and his father’s own handwritten notes. In this remarkable book, he reveals his father’s harrowing escape from occupied Singapore, his struggle for survival amid the tumult of Japanese bombings, and his brave service with the U.S. Eighth Army.
Through the lens of original documents and personal notes, these events are intricately intertwined with the Indian independence movement. These events also make up the book’s compelling account of a critical historical period from 1941 to 1947.
By blending heartfelt personal testimony with meticulously documented history, this compelling narrative uncovers a hidden World War II story that reshapes and enriches readers’ understanding of Asia’s complex wartime past.
“Four Minutes Past Midnight: A Moment in Eternity” is now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ReadersMagnet Bookstore. Visit the author’s website at www.sanjaynet.com.
