Aldi Launches Limited-Edition ‘Carrot’ Gold Engagement Rings – After Kevin the Carrot Finally Popped the Question to Katie
- Aldi’s Christmas advert teaser left shoppers gobsmacked as Kevin asked Katie the big question
- To mark the moment, and celebrate 10 years of Aldi’s beloved Kevin the Carrot, the supermarket has unveiled limited‑edition ‘Carrot’ gold engagement rings – available via an exclusive shopper competition launching 5th November
- With 43% admitting to loving novelty rings, Aldi’s design makes proposals more playful, memorable and affordable
In a world where celebrity proposals are making headlines with dazzling 10‑carat rocks, Aldi is proving there’s room for more carrot and less carat.
This year marks a decade of Kevin the Carrot bringing festive cheer to UK screens, and Aldi is celebrating with a golden tribute to the nation’s favourite root vegetable – and the exciting news of his engagement to Katie, revealed in the supermarket’s latest Christmas advert teaser.
To mark this milestone, Aldi has launched a range of exclusive, limited-edition ‘Carrot’ gold engagement rings, designed to help Kevin fans stage their own truly a-peel-ing proposal. Launching from 5th November via an exclusive shopper competition, the rings will be completely free for those lucky enough to get their hands on one.
Crafted in collaboration with British jeweller, Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, the bespoke rings feature a Carrot-shaped orange cubic zirconia at its heart, complemented by two delicate marquise peridot accents.
The launch comes as Aldi research* found the average spend on an engagement ring sits at over £1,000 – though 16 per cent admitted they regret how much they or their partner paid.
However, romance clearly outweighs price tag, as half would happily say ‘yes’ to a £10 engagement ring, with 43 per cent of these adding it’s the meaning that matters most.
And, nearly one in five said they’d be perfectly happy proposing – or being proposed to – with a novelty ring.
The unique rings made will be given away to lucky shoppers – all they need to do is share their festive proposal plans and explain why a carrot-shaped ring is perfect for their partner.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “This is the next step in Kevin and Katie’s journey, so we wanted to create something truly unique to commemorate the carrot couples’ love story – and what better way than with a truly unique ‘carrot’ ring.
“It’s heartwarming to see that when it comes to real romance people are looking beyond the price tag and to the heart. And if Kevin’s taught us anything over the past decade, it’s that love comes in all shapes and sizes – and sometimes with a leafy top!”
This year’s Christmas campaign is a three-part love story, with the first advert teasing Kevin’s romantic proposal to Katie. The engagement may have set hearts racing, but there’s more to come – shoppers should keep their eyes peeled for the next chapter to see if wedding bells are ringing… or if there’s a twist in the tale.
Aldi’s ‘Carrot’ gold engagement ring competition runs from 00:01 on 5th November to 11:59pm to 19th November. More information and full terms and conditions are available here: http://www.aldi.co.uk/carrotring
