Oscar A. Richards’ poetry collection, “Moods of Love,” will be on display at the Guadalajara International Book Fair in 2025.

The poems in “Moods of Love” depict the tender moments of life, the wonders of creation, and the depths of spiritual contemplation. Oscar A. Richards skillfully combines moving verses that cover everything from contemplations on the splendor of Mother Nature to thought-provoking ideas about the Second Coming and the various facets of love. Each poem invites readers to pause, feel, and rediscover the beauty that surrounds and dwells within us.

Richards’ writing is rooted in his lifelong love of language and storytelling. His poetic voice was shaped early on at Fyzabad Intermediate E.C. School and later refined at Presentation College and St. Mary’s College in Trinidad. His academic pursuits led him to the United States, where he earned a BA in English from Dominican College, a master’s in education from Ashford University, and a doctorate in education from Northcentral University, Arizona. His journey from student to poet reflects a devotion not only to words but also to the moral and spiritual truths they can reveal.

At its heart, “Moods of Love” is both contemplative and uplifting. It mirrors the natural ebb and flow of life — moments of calm, joy, and faith intertwined with the awe of existence itself. Whether describing a radiant sunrise, the quiet grace of love, or the promise of divine renewal, Richards’ verses touch the soul and remind readers that poetry is a bridge between the seen and the unseen.

Fairgoers at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2025 can explore “Moods of Love” at the ReadersMagnet exhibit, located at stand/booth GG40, from November 29 to December 3, 2025.
