Biman Roy’s “Navigating the Quartz Forest” Brings Whimsy and Intimacy to Frankfurt Book Fair 2025
A lyrical collection born from father-daughter connections will be showcased at the world’s premier gathering of books and culture this October.
“Navigating the Quartz Forest” by Biman Roy will be featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025, taking place 15–19 October at Messe Frankfurt. The collection will be exhibited at Hall 5.1, Stand D86 as part of the joint presentation by The Maple Staple and Inks & Bindings.
In this collection, Roy transforms fragments of handwritten notes from his daughter’s teenage years into crystalline poems that blend memory, imagination, and whimsy. Each lyric, dreamlike yet grounded in the artifacts of everyday life, becomes a translation of fleeting conversations, gossip, and half-remembered moments into something universal. The result is a tender poetic mosaic, part tribute, part mirror, that reflects the bond between parent and child while opening onto the mysteries of adolescence and imagination.
Roy has been writing poetry for more than three decades, with his work appearing widely in journals and anthologies. His writing has received nominations for both the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net, and his chapbooks, including Of Moon and Washing Machine and Dinosaur Hour, continue to mark him as a distinctive voice in contemporary poetry.
The Maple Staple, returning for its second year at Frankfurt and joined for the first time by its U.S. partner Inks & Bindings, will feature Roy’s collection alongside an array of global authors. Their program will include book highlights, giveaways, and a new audiobook listening corner designed to celebrate diverse storytelling.
“Navigating the Quartz Forest” will be exhibited at Hall 5.1, Stand D86 during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025. Visitors are invited to explore the collection at the stand, while readers everywhere can find it through Amazon and other major book retailers.
