Recently, Gartner, a globally recognized research and advisory firm, released a report titled 2025 Magic Quadrant for 5G Core Network Infrastructure Solutions. In this report, Huawei was recognized as a leader in the Magic Quadrant and achieved the top ranking in terms of ability to execute, thanks to its comprehensive strengths in technological innovation and market execution. This achievement marks the global industry’s high recognition of Huawei’s strategic vision and execution capabilities in the 5G core network field.

Huawei 5G Core helps build the industry’s first fully converged 2G/3G/4G/5G core network, achieving efficient iteration and flexible deployment of software. First, it adopts the innovative N-Way redundancy software architecture of the Rock-Solid Reliability solution. Second, it works with the ICNMaster MDAF intelligent O&M solution to effectively prevent potential risks. This ensures rapid fault handling and reliability up to 99.9999%. Third, it innovatively uses the dual-engine architecture to support both VMs and containers. This architecture enables the core network to smoothly evolve from conventional VNFs to CNFs.

Huawei leads the commercial use of 5G core networks thanks to its extensive and far-reaching coverage. According to the latest data from Dell’Oro Group, Huawei ranks first in both revenue and shipments of 5G core networks, commanding a market share of over 42%. Huawei’s SVC solution powers over 420 networks worldwide, serving 1.8 billion VoLTE users and 200 million 2G/3G users. Notably, within China alone, this solution has engaged over 60 million New Calling users.

Huawei has unveiled the industry’s first Intelligent Personalized Experience (IPE) solution. This solution integrates the NWDAF-centric intelligence plane and intrinsic intelligence of key network functions such as UPF and PCF. Empowering networks with service and user experience awareness capabilities, this solution has been widely used in various industries, by telecom giants like China Mobile. According to Gartner, Huawei has made remarkable achievements in AI technologies. Notably, Huawei has taken the lead in introducing AI into the core network and officially released the industry’s first AI core network, which was designed to accommodate intelligent applications. The AI core network develops in two phases. The first phase is to build a 5G-A intelligent core network with AI agents. This phase also integrates the computing, network, and storage capabilities to address the computing power and energy challenges faced by user devices. The second phase is to reconstruct the core network as AI native, evolving into an agentic core. Leveraging the AI-based architecture, the network can achieve self-generation, self-optimization, and self-O&M, dynamically adapting to diverse real-time service requirements.
