About the Author
Victor Joyce was born and raised in the Ingersoll Housing Projects of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. He attended the High School of Music and Art, majoring in art, before earning his B.S. in Organizational Management from Manhattan College, where he also excelled as a student athlete in basketball and cross country. For over three decades, Joyce has mentored young people through youth ministries and summer programs, focusing on education, athletics, and character building. He has been writing poetry since junior high school and, in recent years, has performed across the country, tackling topics of social justice, politics, and the shared human condition. “The Birth of Life” is his first published book of poetry—a powerful debut that invites readers to see the world through his eyes.
