Author Barry I. Gold to Host Exclusive Book Signing at Frankfurt Buchmesse 2025 with Quipper Prints
Renowned pharmacologist and author Barry I. Gold brings his groundbreaking book “We’re Overdosed” to Frankfurt Buchmesse 2025, offering readers an eye-opening exploration of the opioid crisis and a hopeful vision for the future.

My hope is that “We’re Overdosed” not only educates readers about the past and present of opioids, but also inspires meaningful dialogue about how we can build a future free from the devastation of addiction.
Quipper Prints is proud to announce that celebrated author and retired pharmacologist Barry I. Gold will appear at the Frankfurt Buchmesse 2025 from October 15–19, 2025, for the international debut and signing of his groundbreaking book, “We’re Overdosed.”
Gold will be signing copies of his work at the Quipper Prints booth, an official exhibitor at the world’s largest book fair.
“We’re Overdosed” offers a timely and deeply researched exploration into the history of opium, tracing its transformation into morphine, opioids, and the rise of the global pharmaceutical industry. Drawing on his extensive background as a scientist, Gold provides unique insights into the opioid epidemic—examining its roots, the role of federal legislation in controlling prescription misuse, and how the U.S. could lead efforts to combat the illicit drug trade. He also looks toward the future, discussing emerging treatments that offer renewed hope in addressing addiction.
“Barry Gold brings the voice of both a scientist and a storyteller,” said Amelia Sanders, Production Manager at Quipper Prints. “His work not only sheds light on the complexities of addiction but also points to pathways of hope. We are thrilled to share his book with the international community at Frankfurt Buchmesse.”
