Two Icons come together to create Baileys X Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur
- Baileys and Terry’s join forces for the very first time to create an indulgent treat
- The limited-edition Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur lands on shelves from 16th September in grocery and convenience
- Hitting shelves 100 days before Christmas, the new product aims to drive seasonal sales with two brands synonymous with the festive period
With the festive season on the horizon, two iconic brands are coming together for the first time to create the perfect indulgent tipple: Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur. Flavours of chocolate and zesty orange, synonymous with Terry’s, have been blended with the distinctive taste of Baileys Original Irish Cream. The limited-edition product will help retailers to drive sales among shoppers seeking a unique gift for family and friends, or to try something totally new during festive occasions at home.
With Baileys being the most loved spirits brand in the UK1 and Terry’s being the nation’s favourite chocolate orange brand2, the collaboration will surprise and delight shoppers this Christmas. Baileys enjoys year-round popularity, but its association with the festive season is especially strong. Last year, more than two bottles of Baileys3 and two Terry’s Chocolate Oranges4 were sold every second during Christmas time. Similarly, Terry’s Chocolate Orange holds a cherished place in shoppers’ Christmas traditions, finding its way into one in four holiday stockings5. Bringing the beloved flavours of Terry’s to the alcohol aisle for the first time, retailers have a fresh opportunity to boost seasonal sales as consumers seek out indulgent treats during the festive period.
The striking bottle design will stand out on shelf and slot perfectly into seasonal displays, while making it an ideal present for lovers of both brands. Baileys’ distinctive flavour profile means it taps into treating occasions beyond just usual spirits occasions, with treat-focused shopping trips showing a +7.6% increase versus last year6. It can be an ideal base for shoppers who want to experiment with more indulgent mixed drinks and cocktails during festive occasions at home, as well as something to be enjoyed on its own as a treat.
Charlotte Gibbon, Category Marketing Director for Gins, Baileys & Pimm’s, commented: “We’re giving consumers the ultimate gift this Christmas by bringing together two iconic brands – Baileys and Terry’s. Uniting these brands creates the ultimate festive spirit – in every sense – and will undoubtedly get people talking and drive footfall into stores (well ahead of the festive shop).
We have a strong record of driving sales with our innovation – Baileys Belgian Chocolate Irish Cream Liqueur has been a massive hit, generating incredible results for our customers – and we’ve taken this to the next level by partnering with Terry’s. Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange gives consumers the chocolatey flavour we know they love while adding a unique, zesty twist. We can’t wait to see the reaction from our fans and we’re confident it will be a big hit with people looking to treat themselves with something different this Christmas.”
Lorène Decam, Senior Marketing Manager for Terry’s, commented: “We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our fans, and this collaboration with Baileys does just that. This collaboration brings together the unmistakable flavour of Terry’s Chocolate Orange with the indulgent creaminess of Baileys, creating a deliciously nostalgic treat that’s perfect for seasonal celebrations. We’re thrilled to be entering the alcohol aisle for the first time and offering shoppers a new way to enjoy the taste they love.
From 16th September (100 days until Christmas) Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur will be available across leading retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Amazon and Co-op, as well as in selected Greene King pubs and bars.
