April Cannizzaro’s own life story is as inspiring as her protagonist’s. A single mother of two daughters, April has faced numerous challenges, including pursuing medical school three times before ultimately following her dream of becoming an author. She now runs Branson House Bed and Breakfast in Marion, Indiana, and operates a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization, SDLCR.org, which has helped animals across the United States and Canada.
