Jeff Peddle is a rum enthusiast, storyteller, and proud Newfoundlander with a sharp wit and a deep appreciation for history, travel, and culture. Raised in Labrador and forged on the rowdy streets of George Street, he’s lived a life as bold as the rums he writes about—from working as a bouncer and chef to managing operations across industries in Alberta.

Jeff’s love for rum began as curiosity, then quickly turned into obsession—fueled by global adventures, incredible distillery visits, and a passion for digging into the truth behind the bottle. Through humour, humility, and honest storytelling, “Rum 101 for Dummies Like Me” is his way of making rum history accessible, entertaining, and deeply personal.

He holds certifications in master Rummelier, business, OH & S CPTED, and safety, but it’s his lived experience, not just credentials, that make his writing relatable.
