Susie F. Kealy’s Whimsical Tale “Miss Woollie’s Wardrobe” Ready to Shine at Two Midwest Book Events with ReadersMagnet

Susie F. Kealy will have her charming book “Miss Woollie’s Wardrobe” exhibited at two major literary events this summer in Chicago. With a background in fine arts and a heartwarming story inspired by a dream, Kealy offers young readers a colorful journey of self-discovery through the eyes of a Maine Coon cat.

“Miss Woollie’s Wardrobe” follows the curious Miss Woollie, a long-haired cat who tries on the coats of other animals – hoping to find something better than her own fur. Through beautifully illustrated pages and gentle humor, children are reminded of an important truth: that a person is perfect just the way they are.

“I’ve always had long-haired cats and a love for textures and color,” Kealy, who is a cat lover, says. “This story came to me in a dream, and I wanted to show kids the joy of accepting themselves through the fun of animal dress-up.”

Trained at the Parsons School of Design, the New York School of Interior Design, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Kealy brings a refined artistic sensibility to the world of children’s literature. Her book, illustrated with vibrant visuals, invites families to laugh, learn, and love alongside Miss Woollie.

The book’s illustrator, Cheryl Rausch, has been an artist, soul counselor, and heart-centered medium for more than 30 years. Her art captures the beauty and vitality of her subjects and is based on love and spirituality. Cheryl uses her illustrations to express herself creatively and emotionally, giving viewers a more profound understanding of the stories she helps make come to life.

“Miss Woollie’s Wardrobe” will be displayed at the Book Confab Chicago, organized by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet, on September 3-4, 2025. The book will also be displayed at the company’s exhibit at the Midwest’s premier book festival at Printers Row on September 6-7, 2025, at South Dearborn Street, from Ida B. Wells to Polk Street, Chicago.

Susie F. Kealy is a painter and cat lover. Inspired by a vivid dream, she wrote “Miss Woollie’s Wardrobe” as a way of joining together her love of storytelling and painting.
