HR and Management Consultant-Turned Mental Health Advocate, Linsey Willis, Will Host Wine-and-Book Signing Events to Raise Awareness of Bipolar Disorder
For over 45 years, Linsey Willis has worked in the HR and management profession during which time she wrote two books which have helped people develop their soft skills. Very recently, however, she has gone on a more personal author journey, sharing a memoir about her life as a caregiver to her late sister. This year, she will be hosting a few wine-tasting, charity and book-signing events to both promote the book as well as raise awareness of bipolar disorder.
“When I started reading this book, I wasn’t sure if I would make it through because it was very sad but once I started reading, I really couldn’t put it down. Linsey writes such a compelling, emotional, truthful, and insightful story about her and her sister’s intertwined lives. I learned so much about mental illness more than I could ever imagine. Anybody who is suffering from this illness or knows family or friends with illness will benefit from reading it.” – Brien R. Pace
Regarding her career, Linsey Willis has established an impressive record in the areas of expert witness services, leadership development, and human resources management. In fact, most of her published writing has been in those areas. But in recent years, she has been devoting her pen towards a more personal cause: telling her story and that of her late sister Betsy.
Betsy was one of 4.4 % of U.S. adults who have experienced bipolar disorder (National Institutes of Health, July 2025) and Linsey was her caregiver until her passing. To preserve her memory as well as raise awareness of America’s systemic challenges with mental health, she published a memoir titled “Be There: My Lived Experience with My Sister’s Bipolar Disorder.”
Like many books on mental health, Linsey strives to present a complete picture of her sister and the unforgettable human being she was despite the problems her condition caused. As part of her promotional work for the book, Linsey has established an alliance with Wines for Humanity and The Betsy Craig Foundation wherein events will be held in cities throughout the U.S. where a combination of wine tasting, a raffle and book signing will take place.
The first event will take place on September 6, 2025, with two sessions from 2:30 – 3:30 PM and 3:45 – 4:45 PM (Central Daylight Time) at Printers Row Park, Chicago. It will be under the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit. The second event will be in Florida on August 19, 2025, at the Loft at Congress at 530 Northwest 77th Street, Boca Raton. During both events, there will be wine tasting sponsored by Wines for Humanity, raffle ticket sales, and a time to meet and speak with the author. Several tickets will be drawn, and the winners will receive two bottles of wine, a box of chocolate, a copy of her book, and a wine tote.
A portion of all book sales and event raffle ticket sales will be donated to The Betsy Craig Foundation and distributed to people in need.
For those who would like to purchase a copy of “Be There: My Lived Experience with My Sister’s Bipolar Disorder,” it is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Updates on other future events can be found on Linsey Willis’ website at https://betherebook.com/.
