WEBWIRE

There’s nothing quite like spotting your name on a refreshing Coke, it’s like the universe giving you a carbonated high-five. But what is the campaign all about?

Whether you’re trying to find your name on a can or wondering how the campaign started, we’ve got the answers to your frequently asked questions. Grab a Coke and discover more…

What is the Share a Coke campaign?

It’s a global marketing campaign that replaces the traditional Coca-Cola logo on bottles and cans with popular first names or nicknames. The idea is to encourage people to share a Coke with someone whose name is featured, creating a personal and social connection through a familiar product.
The campaign aims to engage and excite all Coca-Cola fans - especially Gen Z - by incorporating everyday language like “BFF” and “BAE" to create a fun, relatable vibe.

When did the Share a Coke campaign start?

The campaign first launched in Australia in 2011, featuring the 150 most popular first names in Australia. Loved by Coke fans, the campaign exploded in popularity and expanded to over 120 countries!

Can I have my Share a Coke can or bottle personalised?

Absolutely, yes! In most CCEP markets, for a limited time only, you can request specific names to be added to Share a Coke cans and bottles. If you can’t find your name in stores, don’t panic. In most markets, you can submit a customisation request online with any name or nickname (subject to approval). Simply head over to your local Coca-Cola website, pick your drink, type in your name, and just like that… you’ve got your personalised Coke!

What countries is Share a Coke available in?

The global launch will include 120+ countries, including many of our great CCEP markets: Australia, Belgium & Luxembourg, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Germany, Iceland, Indonesia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Portugal and Sweden.

I can’t find my name on a Share a Coke can or bottle – can you tell me where they’re available?

If your name isn’t on a can or bottle in stores, don’t worry, it may not be part of the standard name list for your country or region. In most markets you can:

  1. Visit your local Coca-Cola website to check the list of available names.
  2. Use the personalisation option to create a custom bottle with your name (subject to approval). In most markets you can do this online, in some, there are Share a Coke booths which you can visit in person.

Is there a list of Share a Coke names?

Yes, most local Coca-Cola websites provide a list of names included in the in-store Share a Coke campaign. The names are selected based on popularity and cultural relevance in each country.

Why does my Diet Coke have a name on it?

During Share a Coke promotions, Coca-Cola extends the name branding beyond Classic Coke to other products like Diet Coke and Coke Zero. If you see a name on your Diet Coke, it’s part of the same campaign.

What names are on Diet Coke cans?

The names on Diet Coke cans are typically the same as those on regular Coca-Cola cans, tailored to the popular names in your country.

From “Sam” to “Soulmate” and everything in between, Share a Coke isn’t just about names - it’s about connection and fun.  So go on, share a moment with Share a Coke.
