Multi-Culture Career Expert and Storyteller Maria Alice Silva-Amey Set to Feature All Works at Midwest Book Event
Maria Alice Silva-Amey has dedicated much of her life to working with multicultural youth in search of career paths as well as an authentic self-identity. This work eventually became a font of inspiration for her creative writing. Today, she is the author of three books that each touch on the complex themes she has studied throughout her career. Those same books are now scheduled to make an exhibit appearance at an upcoming book festival at Printers Row, Chicago.
“Writing in the first person and incorporating elements of autofiction, Silva-Amey draws the reader directly into Lara’s rich history throughout a novel that blends elements of forgiveness, understanding, secrets, truth, and friendship.” - Kirkus Review
Like many immigrants to the United States, Maria Alice Silva-Amey is closely familiar with the topic of multiculturalism. In fact, having been born and raised in Brazil has long brought it close to her experience even before she transferred to further her studies.
On the other hand, she is one of the smaller handful who have decided to use her familiarity and apply it to her work when offering career advice and helping people find their vision.
She has a Master of Science in Counseling from the California State University in Sacramento, as well as an AA in Literature and Language from City College Sacramento. Throughout most of her life, she has used writing, poetry, and understanding of cultural melting pots to guide youth struggling to find their place.
It was for this reason that she has published a number of books that help readers in the same way she has been guiding students. In “Poetry Gives Different Magnitude to Understand Your Thoughts: Feelings of Visions,” she offers an engaging read that generally discusses these themes and several others via poems she has compiled through the years.
On the other hand, “Culminating Experience Personal Theory: Open Feelings Toward Choosing Your Dreams: How Self Identity Helps Us Understand Our Feelings Toward Career Paths and How We Can Accept Different Directions and Choices” is a more technical guide that describes her counseling process as well as how readers can really get to the root of self-identity to choose the most fulfilling career paths.
Lastly, “Beautiful Moon: Wakes Me Up Before the Sunlight” is one of her newest novels that tells the story of a woman whose quest to understand her family’s history touches on themes such as generational trauma as well as the roots of historical racism outside of the U.S.
Silva-Amey has recently been doing some promotional work for these three books in the hopes that getting attention will mean reaching out to more readers who want to explore these ideas for a better life. In fact, she will even be hosting a book signing session during a book festival at Printers Row, Chicago, on insert author signing schedule. Those who would like to see her in person and get signed copies can find her under the ReadersMagnet exhibit at insert booth number.
All three of Maria Alice Silva-Amey’s books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. For more updates on any future work, visit her website at https://mariaaliceamey.com/.
